Task 1, P1 M1, Unit 30

Computer System
Computer- Mac Pro	You will need a computer to make your designs on and using a computer with higher RAM memory and higher dedicated graphics memory you will be able to render and save images much faster. Also having a computer with larger hard drive will mean you can save better quality images which take up more memory with a lot of disk space left. A limitation of using this computer is that it is very expensive and will need an external hardrive because of its low storage space.
Monitor- Apple Thunderbolt Display (27-inch)	A larger monitor and a higher resolution mean that you can view more on your screen at once. For example when using Photoshop, you can put all of the tools at once side and still have enough room left to see your design clearly and have all you tool available on the side without it getting cluttered. A drawback of this monitor would be that it is quite expensive and that the resolution isn't as high as some of the other monitors on the market.
Keyboard- Apple Wireless Keyboard + Photoshop Ultra-Thin Keyboard Cover	You will need a keyboard to put text onto designs as well as using keyboard shortcuts to make using these programs much easier and faster to use. A drawback of using this keyboard is that because this keyboard may require batteries or charging as it is wireless.
Mouse-Apple Magic Mouse	You may need a mouse for designing as well as general use so I think a wired mouse would be better as the can be much more responsive and accurate. When designing small accurate movements may be necessary. A drawback of this would be that it is a wireless mouse and that i will require batteries.

Input devices
Digital camera- Sony DSC-HX50B Advanced Compact Digital Camera	A digital camera would be useful for taking pictures without the need to worry about copyrighted images. A drawback of using this camera is that the pixel quality may be low.
Scanner- BROTHER ADS2100 Document Scanner	A scanner would be used full for scanning pictures and documents to easily transfer them to your computer and website. A drawback of using this scanner would be that it i may loose quality when scanned.
Graphics tablet- WACOM Intuos Pen & touch medium cth-680S-ENES Graphics Tablet	A graphics tablet would be useful when working with programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator to use to draw and design logos etc. Without the need of a pen and paper. A drawback of using this tablet would be that it may not be very accurate when sketching out something.

Output devices
Printer- HP Officejet 4620 Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer	A printer would be used for printing off designs. Using higher quality printers would be better for designs and client work. A drawback of using this would be that the printing quality may be low or may be discolored.
Projector- PHILIPS PicoPix PP2480 Pico Projector	A projector can be used to show your work to large groups at a single time. A drawback of using this projector is that is may look very distorted.
Vinyl cutter- 48" Refine vinyl cutter / plotter	A vinyl cutter would be useful for printing and cutting out logos or text for on the side of vans and cars.
File storage devices- SEAGATE Backup plus External Hard drive 2TB	A file storage drive like an external hard drive would be useful for backing up files or using as another hard drive in case the main one runs out of space. A drawback of using this is that the files may get corrupted when transferring them over.

Software
Vector- Adobe Illustrator	Vector software can be used for creating logos as the image won’t distort when enlarging it whereas bitmap software would distort the image. A drawback of using Photoshop is that I've noticed that it is prone to crashing and may not save your files correctly.
Bitmap- Adobe Photoshop	Using Photoshop as the bitmap software would be useful for making photo manipulations as you can edit each pixel individually whereas using something like illustrator which you cannot. A drawback of using illustrator is that it can be quite a difficult program to use for someone who hasn't used it before.
Desktop Publisher- Microsoft Publisher	Desktop publishing is the creation of documents using page layout software on a personal computer and can be used for making leaflets ect. A drawback of this program is that is that it is expensive for a desktop publishing program
